Story behind the book:
The author's journey together...
Ethan Tethington came up with his and co-author Bernadette Dimitrov’s alter egos; Professor
Zombiologist and Nurse Zomberni. Ethan is 17 years old and started this book journey with Dimitrov more than three years ago at the age of 14. This was a time when COVID was rife, and they were in lockdown in Melbourne, Australia. Ethan has been a huge zombie fan for as long as he can remember with an insatiable curiosity for all things zombie—think movies, games, books, creepy documentaries and anything else from the wild world of zombies that go bump in the night! This young zombie-
obsessed teenager with ADHD and on the autism spectrum came into Dimitrov’s life through her work under her “Positive Disability Support” business. Over the last three years, Dimitrov volunteered her
time, book expertise, and finances to support Ethan in making his dream come true—to write a zombie book.
Ethan wants to be an advocate and inspire other young people with a disability to show that dreams can come true with a support person who believes in your dream and can think outside the box. Dimitrov came up with a creative plan that played to both their strengths. She knows how to research, fact check and layout a book. While young Ethan turned out to be a walking encyclopedia of all things zombies. Dimitrov shares, “I knew nothing about zombies before I met Ethan.” They became two complementary forces, working together, combining their powers to show that you don't have to take the traditional route to make a dream come true. Notably, Ethan drew all the drawings in the book, and Dimitrov graphic designed them.
These co-authors are dying (pun intended) to share fascinating zombie facts and insights that most don’t know about. They want readers to brace themself as they step into an intriguing, epic and unforgettable ZOMtastic ride through the world of zombies like they’ve never been before!
Expect the EXPECTED and the UNEXPECTED!
